About: TNCA Board of Directors
Chandra Passero
Secretary/Parent Representative Chandra is, first and foremost, delighted mother to Jaden Passero, TNCA student since 2007. She graduated from The California Institute of Integral Studies and has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1997. She maintains a private practice in Weaverville serving children, adults and families. Chandra has been involved in radio production, public organizing, and public speaking in various communities along the way and brings her skills in community organizing and group communication to the Board. Her strength is in facilitating clear communication and relationship building among TNCA stakeholders. In 2009, along with another parent, she started the Community Building/Parent Committee. In addition to coming up with fun ways for families to gather outside the school context, this committee also serves as an ad hoc bridge between parents and staff. Lora L. Holland, Ph.D. Lora L. Holland, Ph.D., has 13 years of experience teaching grades 6-12 at independent private schools in Louisiana and North Carolina. She earned her doctorate in Classics (Greek and Latin) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002; since then she has been faculty at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where she is currently Associate Professor in the Classics Department. She is a member of the American Philological Association, the Archaeological Institute of America, and other professional organizations. Her main area of scholarly research is ancient religions, especially the religion of the Roman Republic; she is currently completing a book on that topic. In addition to teaching and numerous service contributions to UNC Asheville and to her profession, she serves as a research consultant for various organizations. Dr. Holland joined the TNCA Board in February 2011, and is a strong believer in the value of a classical education. Donna Page [BIO COMING SOON] |
